Dear SAG-AFTRA New Mexico Member:
We are near the end of a six-year bipartisan, bicameral effort to make S.1010 happen. Please call Senator Tom Udall and tell him you need his support for S.1010 to make sure voters have a say in who is selected to be the Register of Copyrights for the US Copyright Office. The core copyright industries employ more than 5.7 million U.S. workers. The Copyright Register of Copyrights administers the U.S. Copyright Act and plays a central role in helping Congress develop copyright policy.
Voters should weigh in who is selected for this vital role, especially if it impacts their jobs. Today is the day, so make it happen!

Better yet, call Senator Udall’s office:

Talking Points:
- I’m a SAG-AFTRA [actor/broadcasters/dancer/singer] and my job depends on copyright protection.
- Please support S.1010 the Copyright Register Selection and Accountability Act.
- The motion picture and television industry is responsible for 4,212 direct jobs in the state of New Mexico.
- As a citizen, I need a transparent process where I can weigh in on who is selected to the Register of Copyrights.
