Did you hear that NBCUniversal is negotiating to shoot a pilot in Colorado that tells a Colorado story? The show will be centered on a Native American / Indigenous family and will be shot in both rural and urban areas.

Currently, there's a bill circulating in Colorado's House of Representatives - HB21-1285 - whose passage will provide $5 million to help bring this important show to our state.

How can you help: Please contact you local legislators and let them know what bringing this series to Colorado means to you. Whether it be for work; for ancillary revenue; for state pride; or just for the cool factor. Your voice truly counts, it only takes a handful of passionate people to fuel a victory.

We recommend first thanking your legislators for their past service to your community, and most importantly, being respectful. Be sure to also include your name, address, email address and phone number. Phone calls and emails are very effective, but keep it short – chances are you're talking to an aide who is simply tallying calls for and against the legislation. We've provided a sample letter below.

The legislative session ends on June 12th and the majority of business will be completed in just a couple of weeks.  So don't delay, fuel the momentum -- call or write now!

Sample letter to your legislator:

Hello Sir/Madam (Representative Last Name),

My name is _________ and I work in the film/television industry as a ___________. I am calling (writing) to thank you for your public service and to encourage you to support HB21-1285 for the well being of both my community and my family.

The Denver Post recently reported a NBCUniversal pilot is coming to Colorado and that this project alone will create 200 union jobs in the market.
Projects like these are crucial for the livelihood of many Colorado film industry workers. This is really a jobs creation act and by voting in favor of this important bill, you are helping empower a community that has largely been sidelined for the last 14 months; giving it a chance for an amazing rebound, while also laying the groundwork for future projects coming to town.

My family thanks you, and I thank you, for voting 'yes' on HB21-1285.

Sincerely,

Your Name and contact information
