The SAG-AFTRA Philadelphia Local hosted its annual membership meeting on Wednesday, April 21. The meeting took place via Zoom and included Executive Vice President Rebecca Damon and Secretary-Treasurer Camryn Manheim, local officers, local board members and staff.

Local President Sam Clover welcomed all who attended, introduced the guests and held a moment of silence for all those we have lost in the past year.

Our first panel consisted of New Jersey Film Commissioner Steve Gorelick and from HeeryLoftus Casting, Diane Heery and Jason Loftus. They gave an overview of returning work to our area and answered questions regarding upcoming projects, digital submissions, and even tips on self-taping.

National officers Damon and Manheim reviewed a multitude of initiatives the union is working on and highlighted the array of programs currently offered via the President’s Task Force on Education, Outreach & Engagement.

After a few questions President Clover proceeded to give his report followed by Philadelphia National Board member Mike Kraycik. Local Executive Director Stephen Leshinski began his report by introducing Interim National Director of Equity & Inclusion Ellen Huang to report on the work of her department followed by an overview of the local by Leshinski.

A Q&A period followed and as promised, here are some helpful links to topics that were covered. Don't forget that the SAG-AFTRA member app is also a great source of information. You can download it from your app store and find out more here: sagaftra.org/app.
