My Fellow L.A. Brothers and Sisters,
Our union needs your help. This is not a drill… It’s a call to action.
With the middle class under attack, and unions nationwide under assault, we cannot stand idly by as companies like advertising agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty, Inc., callously tramp over the rights of our members by illegally abandoning their agreement with SAG-AFTRA. BBH has been shooting non-union commercials and deliberately ignoring their responsibility to pay performers fairly. Their indifferent business practices threaten the livelihoods of our members and their families. We can’t let this happen. All our performers rely on union wages and benefits to survive. Once again, we must rise and stand together!
I urge you to attend our #StrikeBBH rally at noon on Wednesday, Jan. 23, being held at the La Brea Tar Pits. We will gather at SAG-AFTRA Plaza at 11 a.m. and march in solidarity. Bring your families and friends. We will declare that we cannot be pushed around. There will be music, food and activities for your children. We need you to be there.
If you absolutely cannot make it, you can show support through Twitter, Facebook and Instagram using the hashtags #StrikeBBH and #AdsGoUnion.
In solidarity,
Jane Austin
SAG-AFTRA Secretary-Treasurer and Los Angeles Local President
