ACTION ALERT: Support California Bill to End Deepfake Porn

We have an important request and your action is vital.
 
On Tuesday, the state Senate Judiciary Committee will consider SB 564, a bill that will ban nonconsensual digitally created sex scenes and nude performances. Let’s make this legislation a reality by urging the committee to stand with performers in support of SB 564! 
 
Deepfake pornography uses artificial intelligence to create bogus sex tapes that are often difficult to detect. Sadly, mainstream filmmakers have also used digital technology to show performers in the nude or engaging in simulated sex acts without their consent. Both are forms of sexual abuse that can have a devastating impact on the image, personal life and mental health of performers like us.
 
That is why our union worked with the bill’s sponsor, state Sen. Connie Leyva, to introduce this legislation. Now, we need you to take action.  

• Tweet at members of the Judiciary Committee and let them know how important SB 564 is to you. 
• Be sure to post before 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, the time of the hearing.
