Action Needed Regarding the American Rescue Plan

On Feb. 1 we asked you to tell your representatives in Congress how important the benefits in the American Rescue Plan were to you and your family. Thank you — and now we need you to call or write them again!

The final provisions in the Plan are being negotiated right now in the House. We expect the House to vote by the end of next week, and the Senate to vote soon thereafter. This must get done before current benefits expire on March 14, 2021.

Let's keep the pressure on!

• Contact your members of Congress and tell them how important these benefits are to you and your family...
• Direct payments of $1,400 per person
• An increase in the federal stipend for unemployment insurance from $300 a week to $400 a week  
• An extension of the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance program, the Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation program and the Mixed Earner Unemployment Compensation program
• A federal subsidy for COBRA coverage through the end of the fiscal year
• A health care subsidy for unemployed workers who are ineligible for COBRA
