#AdsGoUnion Gets Social

The #AdsGoUnion campaign hosted a special event for members actively working in Commercials at SAG-AFTRA Plaza on March 5, 2025. Attendees at Ads Go Union Presents: Using Social Media for Maximum Impact received a brief introduction to the commercial organizing initiative and learned how members can get involved and play a part in increasing union commercial work opportunities. SAG-AFTRA member and social media expert Ryan Walker shared valuable social media insights and guidance, including the differences between social media platforms, specific posting styles and how to employ them to reach the user’s goal. Walker also taught attendees how to harness the different platform algorithms to attract engagement, boost posts and raise their profiles.

Attendees were encouraged to put what they learned into practice to help promote and support the #AdsGoUnion campaign, as well as other causes they care about. Look for more #AdsGoUnion events in the near future, where members can find community, gain new skills and be empowered to help more commercials go union!
