On Feb. 27, 2025 the SAG-AFTRA Sexual Harassment Prevention Committees hosted an educational program at SAG-AFTRA Plaza that focused on trauma and resilience. The in-depth training was designed to help participants understand and have compassion for themselves and others who are survivors, while celebrating the human capacity for resilience.
The session was taught by Echo Executive Director Louise Godbold, who specializes in educating individuals about trauma and resilience in order to promote survivor empowerment, resolve individual and community-level trauma, and create safe, stable and nurturing relationships that break the cycle of generational trauma.
Attendees engaged in a five-hour session that included a lecture and group discussions. There was an emphasis on how important scientific advances can help in understanding the impact of trauma on the body and brain, reporting harassment and learning techniques to build resilience.
