It’s back live and in person for 2023! Please join your fellow SAG-AFTRA members at the state capitol for our annual celebration of the New Mexico film and media community.
The day will provide a great opportunity to thank our legislators for supporting the film industry in New Mexico. Your personal stories illustrating how you’ve benefited from having a robust film and media industry are key to helping remind them of the huge economic impact and number of jobs that it brings to the state. There’s a press conference at 10 a.m. you won’t want to miss.
A number of important bills have been introduced this legislative session that could impact SAG-AFTRA New Mexico members. So it’s vitally important we have a strong showing. This is an opportunity to join our brothers and sisters in other unions to have our collective voice be heard. One of note:
Senate Bill 12 “Film Production Tax Credit Changes” - This bill was just introduced and aims to enhance the current film incentives, including removing the $5 million credit cap for services rendered by resident principal performing artists, making it even more enticing to hire local talent.
The first reading of this bill will take place in the Senate Tax, Business and Transportation Committee. Click here to see a one-page fact sheet with data and a summary of proposed changes.

- 9 a.m.-5 p.m. – Hair & Make-up and virtual reality demonstrations throughout the day
- 10-11 a.m. – Press Conference at State Capitol rotunda
- 6-7:30 p.m. – Legislator reception at La Fonda Restaurant, 100 E San Francisco St., Santa Fe, NM 87501. Space is limited and will be on a first come first served basis.
