The SAG-AFTRA New England Local held its annual membership meeting on March 26, beginning with a social hour, followed by the meeting immediately afterward. For the first time, the meeting was held at District Hall, a public innovation center, and more than 130 members attended.
A panel discussion provided the membership with perspectives on the Time’s Up and #MeToo movements from a variety of angles. Award-winning local journalist Heather Unruh, former anchor at Boston’s WCVB Channel 5, served as moderator. Panelists included Jeremy Scheiner from the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination; actor and SAG-AFTRA member Gloria Crist; SAG-AFTRA National Director, EEO & Diversity Adam Moore; and Local Executive Director and former employment attorney Susan Nelson.
Reports were also presented on local broadcast news, film and television production, legislative affairs and National Board activity.
