Arizona-Utah Local Committees

The Agents/Professional Representatives Committee works to foster positive relationships and address member concerns with talent agents in Arizona and Utah. Meets twice per year and other times as needed.

The Communications Committee strives to inform and improve communications to meet the needs of Arizona-Utah Local members through email, website/member app, SAG-AFTRA Magazine, printed materials and social media. Committee members create content for local web pages, e-newsletter, social media, and holiday greetings as well as take photographs at events. Meets quarterly and other times as needed.

The Conservatory Committee educates, enhances, and challenges upward growth for all skill level industry professionals in Arizona. Committee members plan and execute programs. Areas of focus: virtual workshops, in person workshops, seminars and intensives, and script to screen. Meets quarterly and other times as needed.

The Events Committee plans and assists with hosting events where the local has a presence or organizes, including film festivals, member events, industry conferences, etc. Areas of focus: SAG Awards Viewing Parties, Connections in Phoenix, Tucson, Utah and virtual, South West Actors Conference, Phoenix Film Festival Industry Night, Membership Meetings and New Member Orientations. Meets quarterly and other times as needed.

The Organizing/Strategic Planning Committee’s goal is to increase work opportunities for members and to grow the membership base and engagement through outreach to members, pre-members, students, independent filmmakers, advertising agencies and industry professionals in Arizona. Meets six times per year and other times as needed.

The RORC reviews requests from terminated members who request financial leniency to reinstate their membership

The Stunt Committee addresses issues impacting the stunt community in our local. Areas of focus: set safety and contract education. Meets as needed.

The Utah Outreach Committee focuses on organizing outreach and education to members, performers, students, filmmakers, and industry professionals in Utah. Meets twice per year and other times as needed.

The LGBTQ+ committee’s mission is to provide support to LGBTQ+ members in our local and focus on increasing equal employment opportunities in SAG-AFTRA productions both in Arizona and Utah through collaboration, education, and advocacy. Meets twice per year and other times as needed.

In preparation for contract negotiations members in good standing are invited to participate in the W&W process to discuss issues you’d like to be addressed in SAG-AFTRA contracts. Watch your email for invitations to these meetings which are held as needed.

- A representative attends meetings/events, monitors communications, develops relationships and reports to the local board as needed on issues pertinent to local members. Areas of focus include, but are not limited to:
