Atlanta Local Indie Outreach Committee Update

Attending conferences and films at the 2017 Atlanta Film Festival gave SAG-AFTRA Atlanta Local Indie Outreach Committee members an opportunity to meet with filmmakers, answer questions about our contracts, and provide SAGindie’s contact info for more specific guidance. On June 25, we’ll be presenting two events at the TERMINUS Conference + Festival. We will repeat last year’s well-received panel about the low budget contracts and also lead a separate workshop on the SAG-AFTRA Short Film Agreement, walking filmmakers through the online signatory process. 

We are seeking submissions for our Screenwriter Showcase, where we cast SAG-AFTRA actors to read new scripts. This gives screenwriters the opportunity to hear their stories come to life with professional actors. It also gives our actors an inside connection and relationship with projects in which they could be cast. If you’ve written a script you would like considered for the showcase, please send it to briana.franklin@sagaftra.org. Submission guidelines: Scripts must be for film or TV projects, 12–120 pages in length, with no gratuitous violence or overly explicit subject matter.
