This is a SAG-AFTRA Do Not Work Notice for non-audiobook recorded voice work produced by Worldwide Audio Ltd. (formerly known as Bee Audio in Ashland, Oregon).
Worldwide Audio Ltd., a UK company with a presence in Ashland, Oregon, has a contract with SAG-AFTRA for Audiobooks. However, the company is also producing non-audiobook recorded voice content for Blinkist and perhaps other companies and doing so non-union. We’ve reached out to Worldwide/Bee and to Blinkist to try and negotiate terms for this work, but have not been successful to date.
As such, the SAG-AFTRA Executive Committee has voted unanimously to issue a "no contract, no work" order against Bee Audio for non-audiobook recorded voice content. Therefore, SAG-AFTRA members are hereby informed that no member may accept SAG-AFTRA covered work for Worldwide Audio Ltd. (formerly Bee Audio) that is not covered by their contract with SAG-AFTRA, and that violation of such order may result in disciplinary action in accordance with the SAG-AFTRA Constitution.
