The SAG-AFTRA New York Singers Committee hosted singer and recording artist members along with singers from AEA, AFM and pre-members for a free sight-singing event on July 15 at the SAG-AFTRA New York office. The free event introduced participants to the skill of reading music and being able to perform what is on paper.
The class was taught by Chantel Wright. Among her many accomplishments, Wright is on the music faculty at New York University, is the founder and artistic director of the Songs of Solomon Choir in Harlem, and is in high demand as a choral clinician nationally and internationally.
The free sight-singing event was made possible with support from the SAG-AFTRA Foundation.
