The process of gathering proposals to enhance the Television and Theatrical Motion Picture Contracts is under way in the Washington-Mid Atlantic Local and all over the country. Your local board approved TV/Theatrical Wages and Working Conditions Committee is meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 4 to develop proposals benefitting our membership and welcomes your input either in person* or via email.
Proposals for this important negotiation are developed through the involvement of members like you. Make your voice heard, attend and participate in this very important process. If you have ideas about changes you would like to see made through the negotiation process, this is your opportunity to share your thoughts with this committee which is made up of members who work across the categories (e.g. stunt performers, background, and principal) and who are from various geographic areas within our local.
*Please RSVP: If you would like to attend the meeting (to be held in Bethesda, MD) in person, please RSVP to Jane Love at jane.love@sagaftra.org to reserve a space and receive further details on time and location. Meetings are open to all paid-up SAG-AFTRA members (please bring your current membership card for admittance, paid thru April 30, 2014).
Email Suggestions: If you can’t make it to the committee meeting, you can still play an active part in this important process by emailing your ideas or recommendations to Jane Love at jane.love@sagaftra.org by 4 p.m. ET on Monday, Feb. 3 or to wandw2014@sagaftra.org. Recommendations must be received by Feb. 26, 2014.
Attention Members Who are Actively Producing: SAG-AFTRA members who are actively producing cannot attend the W&W Committee Meetings due to conflict of interest. However, you are welcome to email your suggestions to the email addresses noted above.
All proposal recommendations will be reviewed by the Wages & Working Conditions Committee.
