SAG-AFTRA honors the life and legacy of Philip Seymour Hoffman. Nominated for seven Screen Actors Guild Awards, he won the Actor for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor for his title role in the 2005 film "Capote."

"He was an extraordinary actor with tremendous range and the gift of fully and deeply realizing his amazing characters in films from 'Magnolia' and 'Capote' to 'Charlie Wilson's War' and 'Doubt.' He was such a great talent and his loss is just deeply sad," said SAG-AFTRA President Ken Howard. "On behalf of his fellow actors and all members of SAG-AFTRA, our deepest condolences go out to his family and friends."
