On Oct. 28, the SAG-AFTRA New York Background Advisory Committee (BAC) hosted Background Actor Empowerment: Make the Most of Your Business | On-Set Advocacy Through You and Your Field Service Representative at the SAG-AFTRA New York office. The seminar was presented by Field Services Executive Director Jim Damis, Senior Manager Anthony Favichia, and National Director, Background & New York Entertainment Contracts Stephanie Perry. Attendees learned how Field Services supports members, and they received guidance on how background actors can self-advocate for themselves when working on a new media, theatrical, TV or commercial set. Executive Vice President & New York Local Vice President Linda Powell and New York Local Board member and New York BAC Chair Avis Boone welcomed members to the event and moderated a robust Q&A that followed the presentation.
