SAG-AFTRA is fighting on Capitol Hill for The Performing Artist Tax Parity Act — a bill to help put more money back into YOUR pocket. And we need your help!
The bipartisan Performing Artist Tax Parity Act (PATPA) will make critical, above-the-line business expense tax deductions available to substantially many more actors and artists. The bill moves the threshold from $16,000 to $100,000, or $200,000 for joint filers. That is real change!
Senators act when they hear from YOU, and right now we need YOU to reach out to your Senator Thom Tillis and ask him to support this bill to allow you to keep more of your own money. We are asking for just a few minutes of your time to make your voice heard.
Please share the following message:
Please tell Senator Tillis to co-sponsor Senator Hagerty's Performing Artist Tax Parity Act. It will help us stop unfair taxation and allow us to keep our own money. North Carolina really needs it!
Just two emails and two phone calls can go a long way towards helping us pass this important bill.
First, we are hoping that you'll send individual emails to the following people:
- Kim Barnes, State Director for Senator Thom Tillis: kim_barnes@tillis.senate.gov
- Ryan Adam, Legislative Assistant for Senator Thom Tillis: ryan_adam@tillis.senate.gov
Then we're asking that you please call the following offices and tell them the same message.
- Capitol Hill Office: (202) 224-6342
- North Carolina State Office: (919) 856-4630
Thank you!
