With respect, honor and gratitude, thank you to those who have served our country. Please consider a donation to the USO in support of those in service.
Dear Member,
Today is Veterans Day, established in 1919 to commemorate the end of World War I, and all the people who died in pursuit of that peace.
On this Veterans Day, let’s honor those who have served and continue to serve, including many SAG-AFTRA members, for their devotion and willingness to risk their own safety to protect others. And let’s also remember what their sacrifices are for: inalienable rights, liberty, equality and justice.
We can never truly repay these men and women for their service, but we can show them we care. If you are able to lend a hand, consider a donation to the USO, an organization that helps keep service members’ morale up by keeping them connected to family, home and country. Click here to donate.
And please take a moment to talk to a veteran you know and express your gratitude. And, if you are a veteran yourself, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all you have done.
The words John F. Kennedy spoke in 1961 at Arlington National Cemetery are still relevant today.
“In a world tormented by tension and the possibilities of conflict, we meet in a quiet commemoration of an historic day of peace. In an age that threatens the survival of freedom, we join together to honor those who made our freedom possible.”
In unity and peace,
Fran Drescher
