On June 27, a Crescent City Connection and Member Orientation was held at the Chicory House in New Orleans. Members, new faces and old, attended to connect and learn more about SAG-AFTRA nationally and the New Orleans Local. Presenters were Rhonda Laizer, Local Communications Committee member; Lisha Brock, director of locals administration; and Joel Reamer, senior regional set relations representative. Topics discussed included the history and governance of the union, member engagement, member benefits, safety on set, staying informed, residuals, claims, contracts, direct deposit, dues and Global Rule One. The SAG-AFTRA Foundation and Entertainment Community Fund resources were also highlighted. Members were grateful to meet in person again and a great time was had by all!
