SAG-AFTRA Honored at N.Y. Mets Spirit Award

In a pre-game ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 2, as part of Union Strong Night at CitiField, the New York Mets presented the Spirit Award to SAG-AFTRA. Executive Director, New York Local, Labor Policy and International Affairs Rebecca Damon accepted the award on behalf of the union. New York State AFL-CIO President Mario Cilento threw the first pitch. Also honored were ATU Local 1181 President Tomas Fret, New York State United Teachers Executive Vice President Jaime Ciffone, and UWUA Local-1-2 President Jim Shillito. Hundreds of union members and their families were in attendance on this special evening during Labor Day weekend to honor working people’s contributions to the community.
