The Dallas-Fort Worth Local Conservatory was excited to kick off our 2024 workshop lineup with fellow SAG-AFTRA member and coach Ransford Doherty’s “The Diving Board Technique.” The hybrid workshop was held at the DFW Local office on March 9 and broadcast live via Zoom for members of the Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston-Austin locals.
Doherty is a member of the Los Angeles Local who spends part of his time in north Texas. His unique workshop takes participants through the twists and turns of his early career. He explains how those experiences laid the foundation for his Diving Board Technique, a one-of-a-kind approach to coaching that encourages students to draw from various techniques.
We had a great turnout in-person and online from members in Arkansas, Oklahoma and across Texas. Participants found Doherty’s coaching style and technique refreshing, and he was glad to connect with so many local performers from around the region.
