To help national committee information get communicated to committee members and members-at-large more quickly and comprehensively.
ENSURING CONFIDENCE IN NATIONAL COMMITTEES
WHEREAS it has long been known that union committee participation builds member advocacy, and
WHEREAS committee members, as well as members-at-large, rightly expect their Vice-Chairs to know what’s going on with issues facing the Committee, and
WHEREAS having only one person know the business of a National Committee at any given moment is antithetical to the union’s commitment to transparency,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that all Chairs of national committees shall coordinate with their Vice-Chairs regarding committee business, such business to include, but not be limited to, creating agendas, scheduling meetings, replacing or increasing member and alt seats, and getting committee information out to the Locals.
