The following is a legislative update being sent on behalf of the Louisiana Film & Entertainment Association
Dear Friends of the Film and Entertainment Industry,
We need your voice to be heard by May 5!
In the 2015 Legislative session there were restrictions imposed upon the Louisiana Film Incentive Program. It created an unstable and confusing industry environment. The number of productions in the state drastically declined, taking jobs and direct local spending with it.
What was once a thriving industry with economic benefits for the state, the residents and local businesses is now struggling to survive and now legislators are considering the elimination of the film tax credit.
We need your input now to help us turn it around.
The House Ways and Means Committee is specifically requesting your story. They want to hear from all Louisiana residents who are touched by the industry. The more responses we send, the greater impact we will have on the committee.
We need your to help now to reinforce the message that the film industry spends millions of dollars with Louisiana businesses, creates high paying Louisiana jobs, keeps Louisiana students in state after graduation and attracts new Louisiana residents.
Thank you, and please tell your story using the guidelines found here to take action now!
