SAG-AFTRA Executive Vice President Linda Powell and Chief Labor Policy Officer and New York Local Executive Director Rebecca Damon were among those in attendance at the Gender-Based Violence and Harassment in Focus Summit in Washington, D.C., on June 18. The U.S. Department of Labor Women’s Bureau, a government entity supporting and safeguarding policies related to the interests of working women and their families, hosted the event.
Powell’s keynote speech at the summit centered on SAG-AFTRA’s multifaceted approach to preventing and addressing gender-based violence and harassment within the entertainment industry. She detailed the tools developed under the Four Pillars of Change Initiative, such as the SAG-AFTRA Safe Place app and collaborations with other industry stakeholders, including on-set intimacy coordinators.
