Farewell to Mike Herrera

Longtime SAG-AFTRA member Mike Herrera died in New Orleans at age 66.  His 40 year career in broadcasting in the New Orleans market included work at SAG-AFTRA represented stations WVUE-TV and most recently at WWL-TV.  He performed a variety of roles at the stations, from staff announcer, weathercaster to producer and director.  His voice is well known in the New Orleans market as he also worked in radio and as a freelance voice talent.  Mike was an active member of the union at the station and was always present at SAG-AFTRA events. "SAG-AFTRA members in NOLA are very sad about Mike’s death, he will be missed”, said Diana Boylston, SAG-AFTRA New Orleans president.
