Los Angeles (November 7, 2006) --- At its meeting November 2, 2006, the Screen Actors Guild national board approved unanimously the following statement of support for the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA) in its bargaining with film and television producers:

That the entire membership of SAG supports the efforts of ACTRA to resist all attempts by your producers to reduce the protections afforded performers in your contracts and likewise supports your efforts to improve those contracts and obtain a fairer share of profits derived by those producers from the creative performances of your members.

In the event that ACTRA is forced to call a strike, Screen Actors Guild will take all actions legally possible to support striking ACTRA members, including instructing our members to refuse to accept any engagements from struck employers including any attempts by those employers to relocate those productions to the U.S. or other locations.
