Celebrating at SAG Awards Viewing Party

Local Board member/secretary Jean Simon and her committee successfully helmed Hawaii’s 2015 SAG Awards viewing party committee. Local President David Farmer welcomed the group before the festivities began. The event was beautiful, with door prizes, appetizers and a no-host bar, held on the windward side of Oahu at the Ko’olau clubhouse, Honey’s. The venue, named after the original owner and mother of legendary Hawaii entertainer (and SAG member), Don Ho, was a fitting spot for the event.

Our new SAG-AFTRA banner was a stand-out at the Martin Luther King Jr. parade held on Jan. 19. Several members met once again to march in solidarity, including casting director/member Katie Doyle with her son, Connor and their beautiful dog, Lono, who was photographed many times by enthusiastic tourists. Even Rep. Mark Takai walked the walk for a little while with us down Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki.
