Pennsylvania Members,
HB2366, the Broadcast Free Market Agreement Act, which will ban any noncompete clause that restricts the ability of a broadcast employee to find new work in the industry, is presently with the House Pennsylvania Labor & Industry Committee, chaired by Representative Jim Cox.
We ask that you call your state representative and ask them to co-sponsor this bi-partisan legislation. The Pennsylvania House is currently in session May 18-20 and we would like to get the ball rolling as soon as possible.
Please find out who your representative is here.
Sample Phone or Email Script:
“My name is _____, I am a SAG-AFTRA member and (performer/broadcaster). I am [representative’s name]’s constituent. Broadcast employees living in Pennsylvania are bound to oppressive noncompete agreements where if they leave their jobs or are let go from their jobs, they are prohibited from finding new employment. Other states have implemented legislation that bans these agreements and we ask that Pennsylvania do the same.
We ask that you support HB 2366 the Broadcast Free Market Act. Thank you for your time!”
