On Wednesday, Dec. 6, the New York Host Committee held its annual Holiday Open House at the New York office. It was a glorious return of a much-loved holiday tradition that had not been held since 2019, due to the office closure caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Members were excited to once again be able to celebrate the holiday season with one another and with SAG-AFTRA staff.
The first 200 attendees were gifted with a holiday surprise. The New York Host Committee was thrilled to welcome hundreds of members, providing them with refreshments, good company and holiday cheer. There was much to celebrate this year, and the event also recognized the hard work of the New York strike captains, who had given their all to the strike efforts over the 118 days of the TV/Theatrical Contracts strike. SAG-AFTRA Executive Vice President Linda Powell and New York Local President Ezra Knight shared in the celebration, congratulating members on the new TV/Theatrical contracts, which was ratified the previous day. Many members shared that this is their favorite SAG-AFTRA event, and they were excited to continue this tradition.
