As 2018 draws to a close, I’m reflecting on the many things we have to be thankful for at SAG-AFTRA.
Just a mere six years ago, our new union was born and while it carries with it the remarkable strength, history and traditions of its predecessor organizations, I am proud of the remarkable steps we’ve taken as SAG-AFTRA.
SAG-AFTRA is embracing new technology.
SAG-AFTRA is rising to meet the challenges of a new and fragmenting media landscape.
SAG-AFTRA is taking bold steps to fight the encroachment of non-union commercials.
SAG-AFTRA is introducing ground breaking legislation to protect our rights as performers.
SAG-AFTRA is doubling down on enforcement and safety.
SAG-AFTRA is organizing more work for members.
SAG-AFTRA is you.
All of this is possible because of the strength, unity and activism of our membership. These achievements wouldn’t be possible without your engagement. Whether you participated in a committee, shared your work experiences at a wages and working committee meeting, showed up at a rally, or voted on your contracts, your voice is vital to our success.
I am deeply grateful for all that SAG-AFTRA members do to show up for our union.
