On Aug. 12, 2024, at noon, Mayor Rick Blangiardi officially proclaimed August as Actors Month in the City and County of Honolulu. We are grateful to Mayor Blangiardi and Council Member Tulba for their constant and unwavering support of actors and the arts on Oahu.

Here is the text proclamation:

lives in profound ways with their performances on screen, stage, digital platforms, and in
educational settings; and

WHEREAS, the City and County of Honolulu (City) is home to actors who contribute to
the arts through film production, television series, theater performances, and educational
institutions, and

WHEREAS, the Screen Actors Guild — American Federation of Television and Radio
Artists (SAG-AFTRA) Hawaii Local has more than 1,000 members working in front of the
camera and behind the microphone in the City; and

Theater for Youth, Kumu Kahua Theatre, Mãnoa Valley Theatre, and Diamond Head Theatre

community, and supports actors and acting as a career, vocation, or hobby,

NOW, THEREFORE, I, RICK BLANGIARIM, Mayor of the City and County of
