I’m excited to share some wonderful news with you: Edward R. Leon has been appointed as the new Executive Director for both the Houston-Austin and Dallas-Fort Worth Locals. Ed officially began his role on February 24 and will be working out of our Dallas office.
After an extensive search, we are thrilled to have Ed join our team. His decades of experience in media, content strategy, and leadership across various sectors make him a perfect fit for our Local. As someone who has been involved in multiple entertainment unions, Ed understands the unique challenges we face, and he is dedicated to helping us move forward and build opportunities for our members.
Ed’s experience spans top media organizations like Free Speech TV, Arkansas PBS, and Fuse Media. His leadership has helped elevate national broadcasters to new heights, and he has earned numerous accolades, including multiple Emmy Awards and recognition as one of the “Most Influential Latinos in the Entertainment Industry” by the Imagen Foundation. We are fortunate to have such an accomplished individual on board.
I am confident that with Ed’s guidance, we will be able to strengthen our efforts to organize work opportunities for our members in South Texas. I look forward to working with him on many exciting initiatives that will positively impact our Local in the months and years ahead.
