International President Matthew D. Loeb has sent congratulatory messages to SAG President Ken Howard and AFTRA President Roberta Reardon, on the completed merger of the two guilds.
Upon hearing the results of the vote on Friday, March 30th, President Loeb stated that “The untiring efforts made over many years have finally been realized in the successful results of this historic merger vote. This demonstrates that the members of both SAG and AFTRA clearly understand the benefits of coming together as one and will present an even stronger voice throughout the entertainment industry.”
Loeb further stated “In a time when labor is under increasing political pressure from those whose interests are against us, I congratulate President Howard and President Reardon for their leadership and it is encouraging that the SAG-AFTRA merger will bring greater solidarity to those who work in the entertainment industry.”
The IATSE is an International Union that represents members employed in the stagecraft, motion picture and television production, and trade show industries throughout the United States, its Territories, and Canada.
