The L.A. Local Board Meets in May

The SAG-AFTRA Los Angeles Local Board met virtually on May 6 with observers.

In addition to approving a Los Angeles National Board member replacement and various committee leadership appointments, the following reports were made:

Local Executive Director’s Report

Los Angeles Local Executive Director Serena Kung provided information regarding the upcoming annual general membership meeting and Ralph Morgan Award ceremony scheduled for June 8.

Each year, the Los Angeles Local hosts a membership meeting at which the Local’s Ralph Morgan Award for union service is awarded to a member for their dedication to SAG-AFTRA. It was noted that the meeting would also include an expo, union updates from elected leaders and staff, and a designated time for questions and answers from members.

Upcoming event dates were also shared as well as updates on ongoing contract negotiations.

Committee Reports

Several Los Angeles Local Committees reported on the work and programming they have accomplished since the beginning of the term in October 2023.

Chair of the National Interactive Media Agreement Negotiating Committee Chair Sarah Elmaleh also gave a brief update on contract talks and shared that a Tiered-Budget Agreement for Independent Interactive Media was introduced.
