A Letter from your New Orleans President

First, I am so excited we are able to have our first virtual SAG-AFTRA New Orleans Local membership meeting on Tuesday, April 27 from 7–9 p.m. Click here to RSVP today.  

I want to know the topics YOU want discussed and the issues that are your concern. If you have suggested speakers, questions or information you’d like to share, please email me at neworleans.president@sagaftra.org by April 8.

Second, many of you have asked questions about the different mileage rates and per diem pay you are owed. Those amounts vary by contract. For fast and accurate answers, please contact your union staff; you’ll need to know which contract the production you’re inquiring about is signed to. You can find SAG-AFTRA departments contact info on our New Orleans Local web page here.

One last note on the membership meeting. You’ll need a Zoom account, which is free, and only requires an email address and a password to sign up. The email you use for your SAG-AFTRA account and your Zoom account should be the same. This is necessary to ensure only members are participating in the important discussions we need to have internally as a local. For those unable to attend, we’ll publish a news article summarizing the meeting with any resources available. RSVP by the deadline, Friday, April 23 at 7 p.m. CT.  Late registrations cannot be accepted.
