Analyzing Audition Sides - WMA Spring Conservatory

Please join Casting Director Jenny Ravitz on Wednesday, May 29 for an evening of analyzing sides for guest star and series regular auditions. In this class, you will have the opportunity to ask questions, discuss the best ways to prep, and explore how to analyze the script to make sure you are prepared for your next audition. 

Jenny Ravitz is a New York-based casting director whose past work includes the hit NBC series Chicago PD, Chicago Fire, and Chicago Med; FBI: International (CBS), and the indie film Pretty People, which debuted at the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival. She is currently working independently and recently cast projects for Ars Nova, 5th Avenue Theatre and Paper Mill Playhouse. She is an advocate for artists with chronic pain and illnesses and was named the 2021 Volunteer of the Year by the Arthritis Foundation of New York.

"I BOOKED IT!" - from Self-Tape to Final Take!

Join us on June 3 from 6-8pm for the SAG-AFTRA Chicago Conservatory presention "I BOOKED IT" - an evening that showcases how Chicago's very own are getting it done. From self-tapes to working the TV/film landscapes, we'll be showcasing, gaining insight, and highlighting actors who've crossed the threshold from their self tape to final take. Nashville Local Membership Meeting

The annual Nashville Local Membership Meeting will be Wednesday, June 26. It's been quite a year since we last met and this is your chance to meet your fellow members and discuss how we can be an even more productive and effective union.

You can attend in-person at the Nashville Local office or via Zoom. For those that can join us at our local office, we'll have a buffet lunch and social hour at 11 a.m. and the meeting itself will begin at noon.

Atlanta Local Summer Picnic

Let’s gather and kick off the summer together! Join us for the Summer of SAG-AFTRA Atlanta Picnic at the fabulous Westside Park!  This is your opportunity to hang out with your local leadership and fellow union members.

We'll provide complimentary soft drinks, water and chips. Please bring your own food and drink of choice! Or bring a dish to share. If you have any fun games, bring them along too. We'll have summer tunes, games and more. 

The event is free to union members and their family or guests. Parking is free!

Chicago Pride Parade

Jun 30, 2024 - 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM CDT

Where: West Sheridan and North Broadway

SAG-AFTRA Chicago will be participating in Chicago's Pride Parade with the Chicago Federation of Labor. 

The parade steps off at 11 a.m. at W. Sheridan and N. Broadway, continues south along Broadway, then Halsted, east along Belmont to Broadway, then south to Diversey.

Participants can either sit on the float or march alongside it, though participants should plan on doing some walking as there is limited space on the float. There will also be a live DJ on the float providing music for our participants and spectators. 

Tens of thousands of people are expected to pack the parade route, which starts in the landmark LGBTQ+ neighborhood of Northalsted and wraps up in Lincoln Park. This year, 150 contingents will march under the theme Pride is Power.

We look forward to celebrating Pride with you!
