The 2022 Southwest Actors Conference was held Sept. 24 in Phoenix, drawing in hundreds of actors and industry personnel from all over the country to participate in presentations, networking and exhibits. The SAG-AFTRA Arizona-Utah Local hosted an exhibitor table, which was manned by member-volunteers, including Local Board members Margie Ghigo, Kyle Marsh, Rainer Rohde and Lela Hough, as well as SAG-AFTRA Director of Locals Administration Lisha Brock.

During breaks, the highly visible booth garnered a lot of attention. The table displayed a variety of helpful information for all conference attendees with whom we had lots of conversations. The performers were most interested in learning about union benefits and how to become a member. Additionally, there was also interest from independent producers and local industry leaders anxious to learn about SAG-AFTRA’s various low-budget contracts. We received positive feedback from attendees and the conference for our participation, proving that events like this are not only worthwhile, but crucial for our ongoing organizing efforts in our local.
