The Atlanta Conservatory: Trilith Studios invites you to an Open House

The Muriel Moore/Danny Nelson SAG-AFTRA Conservatory Presents: Trilith Studios invites you to an Open House.

Attendees will experience a studio tour followed by a panel presented by the Trilith Foundation. Join us to learn how to overcome exhaustion, restore connection, and spark inspiration to help you flourish as an artist. 

The Trilith Foundation’s mission is to enrich the lives of creatives who inspire the world – meaning you! Speakers on the panel will include Mark Fincannon, Casting Director, Elizabeth Dixon, CEO of Trilith Foundation, and more.

Light food and refreshments will be provided.

The Atlanta Local Conservatory Presents Creating Self-Tape Success

The Muriel Moore/Danny Nelson SAG-AFTRA Conservatory Presents: Creating Self-Tape Success with Cecelia Specht

This workshop is for actors of every level. We will cover all aspects of the Self-Tape Audition: from clearly understanding casting's instructions, to the basic equipment and an easy home set-up, to a quick and effective script analysis, to confidently submitting your best work. We will also cover why and when it is a good idea to go into a taping service to shoot your audition, and how to best prepare for it so your reader can do their best job for you, and you can achieve booking success.

Cecelia Specht has been a professional actress for over 25 years and has taught all over the world including, the University of Melbourne, the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles, and various studios here in Atlanta. For the last three years, Cecelia has been coaching and shooting self-tape auditions at Actor Taping Services and has shot thousands of self-tape auditions for actors of every level here in the Southeast.

Please bring a non-perishable food item for the Atlanta Community Food Bank.

Atlanta Local New Member Orientation

Whether you are a new member or new to the Atlanta local this new member orientation is for you. Hear from member leaders and staff about your union. Learn something new and get answers to questions you have about SAG-AFTRA. Light refreshments will be served. We hope you can join us.

Atlanta Local Summer Picnic

Let’s gather and kick off the summer together! Join us for the Summer of SAG-AFTRA Atlanta Picnic at the fabulous Westside Park!  This is your opportunity to hang out with your local leadership and fellow union members.

We'll provide complimentary soft drinks, water and chips. Please bring your own food and drink of choice! Or bring a dish to share. If you have any fun games, bring them along too. We'll have summer tunes, games and more. 

The event is free to union members and their family or guests. Parking is free!

The Muriel Moore/Danny Nelson SAG-AFTRA Conservatory Presents: The Empowered Actor with Elaine Hendrix

This workshop is to help empower actors at a core level, supporting the "whole artist" we truly are. Craft. Business. Life. Spend the evening exploring, expanding and sharpening your expertise with fun, interactive acting exercises along with a deep dive Q&A into creativity, the industry and living a successful life as an actor.

Elaine Hendrix is an actor best known for her iconic roles in Disney's The Parent Trap, SNL's Superstar and the cult classic Romy & Michele's High School Reunion. She most recently starred as the iconic Alexis Carrington in the Atlanta-based production of Dynasty for The CW and Netflix. When she's not working on set, Elaine teaches and coaches other performers within various mediums. 

Only 20 members will participate. There will be a wait list. If you must cancel, you must do so within 24 hours of the event so another member may participate.

Our Conservatory will be collecting non-perishable food items for Intown Cares.

Atlanta Coffee Get Together

Start the spring season right! Join fellow members in Atlanta for a beverage and good conversation at our May coffee get together! Members will enjoy a complimentary coffee, tea or soft drink.

Join us to meet new people, connect with some old friends you haven't seen in a while. Discuss matters of importance, share information, and learn how to help each other locally. Elected leadership will be in attendance. Look for the tables with SAG-AFTRA signage.

2024 Atlanta Local SAG Awards Party

Join us for an in-person SAG Awards viewing party! Celebrate with your fellow members at the Atlanta Local viewing party of the 30th Annual SAG Awards on Saturday, Feb. 24.

The awards show, streaming on Netflix, begins at 8 p.m. and runs until 10 p.m. A pre-show begins at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:45 p.m.

The party is free to members of the Atlanta Local in good standing plus one guest. Dessert will be served. Attire is casual. 

Registration is now open and is required for all attendees. There is limited seating so registration will be first come, first served with a wait list. Reserve your spot by Feb 20th. You must be logged in to see the form below.

Atlanta TV/Theatrical Contracts Informational Meeting

On November 10, 2023, the SAG-AFTRA National Board met and reviewed the tentative agreement for the 2023 TV/Theatrical Contracts. They overwhelmingly voted to approve and recommend a “Yes” vote.

In order to help you have as much information as possible on the new contract prior to voting, the SAG-AFTRA Atlanta Local will hold a TV/Theatrical Contracts informational in-person meeting with National Executive Director & Chief Negotiator Duncan Crabtree-Ireland and Chief Contracts Officer Ray Rodriguez on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023.

Doors Open: 6:30 p.m. ET

Meeting: 7 - 9:30 pm ET
