Members will learn important skills needed to submit themselves for online casting, specifically how to compress their videos, make basic edits, upload to dropbox, send large files via wetransfer, and how to setup accounts and submit themselves on various casting web sites like Actors Access and Casting Networks.

This three-hour class is for SAG-AFTRA members who have previously taken the Part 1 class (Intro to Narrative Video Editing with iMovie) and are interested in learning how to expand their projects (e.g. short film, web series) using iMovie. In this class we will pick up where we left off in Part 1 by editing a short dialogue scene. We will also introduce more advanced features within iMovie including the addition of animated effects. Footage for the scene will be provided.

Please Note: You must have taken Part 1 (Intro to Narrative Video Editing with iMovie) prior to taking this class.

This class is not an introduction on how to use a computer, so basic computer skills are required. No exceptions. 

Requirements:

• An Apple Macintosh computer (desktop or laptop) with a current version of iMovie installed (latest is 10.2.5)
• Desire and ability to learn to edit digital video footage using Apple iMovie.

NOTE: This is a 2.5 HOUR class that will take place ONLINE.

The purpose of this workshop is to instruct SAG-AFTRA members on building a professional resume using a free word processor, Google Docs. In this two-hour session, members will setup an account to use the free software, learn how the site works as well as the basic functions provided, and build their resume during the workshop. While some members may finish their resume in the workshop, most members will have about 50-80% of their resume completed. NOTE: This is not a class to update your existing resume. We will be building a new resume in this workshop.

This class is not an introduction on how to use a computer, so basic computer skills are needed.  No exceptions.

All members are expected to have a functioning website by the end of the workshop.

Members must have the following organized on their desktop for this class:

• At least 1 DIGITAL headshot 
• Relevant information for your resume on paper. This can be an older resume.

A demo is an important tool in your VO career. Join EIF staff member Shannon Condon as she guides you through the dos and don'ts of creating a voiceover demo. She will walk you through the different requirements for a demo per category of voiceover and provide ideas and resources for how to get started. This session will consist of a lecture followed by a Q&A.

This session will provide a greater understanding of the components and elements that go into an effective demo reel, as well as cover the role of the reel and how an actor can best use it as one of their marketing tools. This session will last for 2 - 3 hours. Participants must stay for the whole time. 

If you want your reel reviewed:

• It must be no longer than three minutes.
• Email your name and YouTube or Vimeo link (No CDs or files) to thebusiness@sagaftra.foundation by 7 p.m. the evening prior to the class. We cannot guarantee that all submitted reels will be reviewed.
