This webinar is designed as a higher-level follow-up for performers who are already comfortable with the basics of social media, and who are looking to exponentially grow their audience, monetize their followings with brands, and apply advanced strategies and tactics. 

Ryan will cover optimizing profiles and content for various platform's algorithm, submission to paid partnerships with brands, navigating SAG-AFTRA contracts in the digital space, building influence the most time-efficient and effective way, utilizing your presence for more opportunities, and the future of social media.

SAG-AFTRA Foundation VO Lab Presents: Los Angeles VO Lab Orientation

Aug 20, 2020 - 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM PDT

The DLF and EIF VO Labs are the same.  Regardless of your location, VO Lab programs are available to all VO Lab eligible SAG-AFTRA and AEA members across the country and abroad.

Once you have completed the required Voiceover Lab Application (online), you must complete the Voiceover Lab Orientation (VOLO) in order to begin using the Lab. This 2-hour VOLO covers Lab policies, aspects of sound, file formats, sample rates/bit depths, audio interfaces, microphones, voiceover recording and editing demonstration using Twisted Wave software.

When: Aug 20, 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT / 6 p.m. MT / 5 p.m. PT

REQUIREMENTS

Check-in time is currently 4:45 PM (Pacific) / 7:45 PM (Eastern), but is subject to change.  If check-in time changes, you will be notified by email and you will be required to respond to that email for confirmation.

Attendees must be present for the entire program, which is 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM (Pacific) / 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM (Eastern) in order to receive VO Lab eligibility. 

Ability to log into program by computer equipped with a camera or by cell phone equipped with a camera. Program will take place using Zoom (conferencing application) .  Camera is needed in order for participants to view presentation materials

Completed VO Lab Application.

SAG-AFTRA Foundation Presents: Demo Reel Workshop Final Cut Pro X

This 3-hour workshop is for members interested in learning how to build and edit their demo reel using Final Cut Pro X, a powerful video editing software that is currently FREE for those with a Mac. In this workshop, you will use your own video clips to assemble and edit your own demo reel. You must have the software in order to participate in this online class.

Please Note: This class is not an introduction on how to use a computer, so basic computer skills are needed.  No exceptions.

At least 1 video clips in MPEG-4 (.MP4) or Quicktime (.MOV) format.

Requirements:

- Working knowledge of a Mac.
- Desire and ability to learn to edit digital video footage using Final Cut Pro X installed on their computer.

SAG-AFTRA Foundation VO Lab Presents: Rayme Cornell's What Does My Voice Sell?

As a voiceover actor, do you ever think about how well the voiceovers you hear on TV, the Net, radio or wherever, fit the brands they represent? If you don't, you should.  If you do, this class is a good fit for you.

How is your own voice perceived by those around you? Is your unique voice signature more Tesla or Ferrari?  Are you the voice of XBox or Atari? Does your voice speak old soul or scream wild child?

This class will help you identify some of the things that your voice does best and the role demographics, product categories and brands can play in the process.   Be prepared to read, take direction and find out what your voice sells.

Rayme has been a professional actor for over 25 years and is a member of the Screen Actors Guild, American Federation of Television and Radio Artists and Actors Equity Association.

She began her teaching career as an Assistant Professor in the Stage & Screen Acting program at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, where she taught Acting, Shakespeare, Modern Styles, Audition Techniques, and Voiceover in the MFA and Undergraduate Acting programs. She was the host of the national award-winning PBS show Real Moms, Real Stories, Real Savvy.  She has worked in film, television, Off Broadway and with some of the nations most prestigious regional theaters. Her favorite roles include; Cassandra in Trojan Women at The Old Globe, directed by Seret Scott; The Greek Chorus, in the World Premier of Trevor Nunn and John Barton’s seven hour play, The Greeks, at The Alley Theatre directed by Gregory Boyd among others.

As a private coach, Rayme works with professionals in a variety of disciplines. Her speech and acting clients range from network news anchors and celebrity chefs to UFC champions. On the performance side, she has numerous credits as a voiceover actor representing such brands as L’Oreal, Ford, Dunkin' Donuts, Uber, Cingular Wireless, Station Casino’s, Singulair, Lifetime, WE, Oxygen Network, USA Network, MTV, VH1, BET, ESPN, History Channel, Discovery Channel, Republican and Democratic Candidates and many more.  

Rayme is a master teacher at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation's Don LaFontaine Voice Over Lab in Los Angeles and the EIF Voiceover Lab in New York and is passionate about the craft of acting. 

 

REQUIREMENTS

Attendees must stay for the entire program.

There will  be a limited number of Audit seats available.  Auditors are observers of the instruction, but are not active readers.  However, if there are changes in status, the performers on the Waitlist will be notified about active reader opportunities by the Program Director. Notification usually occurs two hours before the start of the class.

SAG-AFTRA Foundation VO Lab Presents: Twisted Wave 101- Recording, Editing and Workflow

This class is open to all VO Lab Eligible performers that meet the Requirements.

Twisted Wave is an intuitive and affordable DAW made specifically for Macs.  If you have some working experience with Twisted Wave and are looking to expand your knowledge and understanding of its functionality or looking ways to improve your workflow, this program (class) is especially important for you. Bring your laptop with Twisted Wave loaded and ready to go, so you can follow along with the instruction, while gaining more hands-on experience.  This class will not focus on the iOS (iPad/iPhone) versions of Twisted Wave.

Program duration: 8 - 10 p.m. ET / 7 - 9 p.m. CT / 6 - 8 p.m. MT / 5 - 7 p.m. PT

 

REQUIREMENTS

Twisted Wave is a Mac Only DAW (Digital Audio Workstation).  You will need a Mac for this class.

Some experience using Twisted Wave (or other DAW) is suggested. If you are new to the application, launch it and familiarize yourself with some of it's options (go to twistedwave.com and read some of the owner's manual) or look for tutorials on the Internet before class.

Bring your Mac laptop (no iPads, no PCs) with a purchased or 30-day trial version of Twisted Wave , downloaded, functioning and ready to use.  This is recommended to optimize learning, but not mandatory. Get your copy of Twisted Wave.  The URL: https://twistedwave.com
