The SAG-AFTRA Health Plan will be giving a presentation on the health plan changes that become effective on January 1, 2021. The presentation will be followed by a question and answer period. 

RSVP is required. You will be notified of the log in for the meeting approximately one hour before the meeting begins. Three identical sessions are scheduled. Please only RSVP for one of the sessions below.

SAG-AFTRA Foundation VO Lab Presents: Audiobook Workout Group

If you are getting into audiobook narration or already have a few completed audiobooks to your name, this workout provides you an opportunity to step out of your closet, rub elbows with your fellow performers and have some fun in a supportive space.  It  is all about sharing your creative ideas with the group and getting some instant feedback on your work. The workout is intended to generate feedback on your creative choices, so be rehearsed and familiar with the material you will be reading. 

When: 4:30 PM - 7 p.m. ET / 3:30 - 6 p.m. CT / 2:30 - 5 p.m. MT / 1:30 - 4 p.m PT

REQUIREMENTS

Two (2) book excerpts (that you are familiar with), each no less than 2 minutes in length (time yourself when practicing before the workout).  

If you are completely new to audiobook narration (never done it before) and have never been in a VO class or recording studio, try our Beginner Bundle: Intro to Audiobook Workouts Plus class before registering for this offering.  

The Lab will not provide reading materials.

The Actors Fund Presents: Orientation for Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Course

Join an Orientation session for The Actors Fund’s upcoming free online 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction courses for those in the performing arts and entertainment. MBSR uses meditation, gentle yoga and inquiry as a way of training people to relate differently to stresses in their lives. It was originally developed for patients in chronic pain and has since been shown to be beneficial for dealing with stress, anxiety and depression. 

When: Tuseday, Sept. 1, 7 - 8:30 p.m. ET / 6 - 7:30 p.m. CT / 5 - 6:30 p.m. MT / 4 - 5:30 p.m. PT

These MSBR orientation sessions will provide an in-depth look at the course, give an introduction to mindfulness meditation, and go over a short questionnaire about how you think MBSR can best serve you.

After completing the orientation there will be a brief 1-on-1 online interview.

You must attend one of the MSBR Orientation sessions (August 18, August 27, September 1 or September 10).

TV Animation Contracts Info Meeting

This class will meet REMOTELY. All RSVPd members will receive a ZOOM link inviting them to join the class.

Do you have a plan for your money? Do you tell your money what to do or are your surprised at the end of the month by how it is spent? By creating a solid plan, audience members will have the steps to create a budget, get out of debt, build an emergency fund and begin to save for retirement. Participants will leave knowing that they can begin their path of financial freedom.

Please bring pencil or pen along with something to take notes.

Small Group Sessions are facilitated discussions with the goal of digging deeper into some of the information and advice shared within the panels. These sessions provide a time to break down concepts into practical action items by which an actor can individually apply to their professional pursuits. This session will last for 1.5 - 2 hours. Participants must stay for the whole time.
