This group is intended for everyone who does the challenging work of caring for a loved one who is an older adult (whether a partner, spouse, parent, friend or other family). This initiative gives voice to the caregiver in a supportive, confidential and safe space, as well as looking at the importance of self-care, including mind-body exercises, community, discussion and expression for replenishment and empowerment.

The Career Center’s Linkedin Suite for Entertainment program seeks to provide arts workers with the LinkedIn skills and knowledge needed to engage the platform in a meaningful way and will help you explore how to market yourself for the career paths you’re actively pursuing. While we encourage you to participate in all 4 parts of the LinkedIn series for an optimal experience; it is not required to participate in each part of the series.

Orientation is the first step to enrolling in the services of The Career Center. 

The Career Center addresses a central challenge for performing arts and entertainment professionals: navigating the episodic nature of work in the industry. For many, survival work—initiated to make ends meet—ends up draining the creative professional and becoming more of a problem than a solution. Comic actors, writers and stand-up comedians provide much needed relief in an often-changing world. However, the nature of their work often leads to financial instability, episodic work, and intense competition. These concerns have become even more challenging as a result of the pandemic.

However, our special guest speaker Joe DeVito has adapted to changing times for over the past 19 years, sustaining a fulfilling career using his comedy skills.

During this discussion, we will explore:
