Creating Entertainment Content on a Micro Budget

Mar 16, 2021 - 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM PDT

Where: Online

Host: SAG-AFTRA President Gabrielle Carteris

Moderator: Stacey Travis, Actress and Chair, SAG-AFTRA Low Budget Committee

Curious about how to create entertainment content on a limited budget? Join us for an overview of the hottest new SAG-AFTRA contract: the Micro-Budget Project Agreement. This overview will show you how easy and efficient it is for creators of entertainment content to utilize this new agreement with an easy application process for certain fast moving, low budget projects! We’ll also cover the basics of the Short Project Agreement (SPA) and Low Budget New Media Agreement for when Micro isn’t quite the right fit for your project.

“Micro” streamlines the signatory process for live-action projects headed for social media, free streaming, film festivals, and public access TV, budgeted at $20,000 or less per picture or episode, and allows for negotiable terms, making it an efficient option for projects that need a fast turnaround. Unlike other contracts that have a longer process, if your project qualifies for Micro, you can be cleared to start immediately upon submission of your application, provided that you notify performers of the Micro’s terms.

Hosted by the SAG-AFTRA President's Task Force on Education, Outreach & Engagement, join us as we tell you more about what qualifies and show you how easy it is to get started!
