The SAG-AFTRA New England annual membership meeting is on Monday, April 8 at District Hall in Boston’s Seaport District. We are excited to announce that Lisa Strout, Director of the Massachusetts Film Office, will speak at this year’s annual meeting about the past year’s productions as well as what is to come in 2019.
Social hour begins at 6 p.m., followed by the membership meeting at 7 p.m. The event focuses on Organizing Our Future: SAG-AFTRA Victories and Challenges: From WBUR to Commercials and Beyond. We look forward to a great night of socializing, networking and presentations!

The annual meeting is only open to paid-up SAG-AFTRA members in good standing, no guests allowed. Parents/guardians of performers under 18 years old are welcome. You must bring your current membership card or digital card on the app for admittance (paid thru April 30, 2019).
SAG-AFTRA member Dan Marshall will lead this get-out-of-your-seat conservatory joined by dance company members and SAG-AFTRA members Shira Price, Kate Jurdi and Kristen Annese, who shared the screen and dance floor in the films The Finest Hours and Joy. The conservatory will introduce universal elements of partner, solo and group dancing and martial arts, with the goal of improving poise and confidence of movement, elegance, character and presentation. Footwork and partnering techniques, rhythms, body movements, isolations, styling, combinations and choreography will be covered. No prior dance or movement experience is necessary!

Cost: $10 (Class size is limited to 36 members.)
Session attire: Participants should try to bring two pairs of shoes, comfortable clothes and socks: The first pair should be short heels, preferably with a leather or suede bottom (women: character shoe; men: oxford shoe); no stilettos or high heels. The second pair should be a flexible, smooth sneaker. There is no need for dance clothes.
Note: This conservatory is for all dance levels, but members must be ages 12 and up.

About Dan Marshall
Dan Marshall is the director and co-founder of FreEMotion/LibreEMoción Repertory Company and the Brookline Community Center for the Arts. He has produced, directed, choreographed and performed in film, TV, commercial and theater. Recent works include Folkloric Viennese Waltz choreography and dancing for Disney's film The Finest Hours, polka choreography and dancing for Netflix's The Polka King, and choreography for Netflix's upcoming series Hamelins.
