Monthly on the second Thursday

Teacher: Christina Bobrowsky

This class will focus on wellness techniques to be present and calm the mind. 

Structure 
Beginning with a simple introduction breathwork, I will introduce basic Alexander Technique - a gentle practice to change movement habits in everyday activities. We will begin a discussion on who has experience with these topics and their thoughts. We will explore the ways that acting and awareness go hand-in-hand. We will touch upon additional techniques, i.e. Wim Hof, Transcendental Meditation and Qi Gong.

Via mainstream acting theories and techniques, proven exercises and improvisation, students are exposed to the stylish and technical demands of camera performance. With emphasis on the ensemble and exposure, today’s audition obligations, to understanding how multi-media training relates to a 21st century actor, we will explore, challenge, and apply the vernacular, etiquette, discipline, and nuance of acting, and note how the process of storytelling applies to the actor.

NextGen Performers consists of SAG-AFTRA members who encourage young adult professional members to take control of their careers and get involved and active with the union through social media, social networking, meet-ups, community outreach, special events and much more. This event is open to active SAG-AFTRA members in good standing (paid through April 30, 2025) plus a guest. Parents/guardians of performers under 18 years old are welcome.

Comer Casting is seeking SAG-AFTRA members to portray the following for background work

on the TV show Elsbeth:

-Prison inmates with no tattoos

-Prison inmates who can play basketball

-Prison inmates that know how to braid hair

-Male men's suits tailor. Must have the ability to properly chalk and pin suit while taking measurements

-Young teens
