This class is designed to help students achieve a successful commercial audition in a fun and informative environment. The class consists of working with Commercial copy board and hand held paper copy. Various techniques are used to achieve a natural, honest, and unique audition. Improvisation techniques may also be used. Students may bring their own material or use commercial copy available. Auditions are played back and reviewed.

CANCELLED - Acting on Camera

Via mainstream acting theories and techniques, proven exercises and improvisation, students are exposed to the stylish and technical demands of camera performance. With emphasis on the ensemble and exposure, today’s audition obligations, to understanding how multi-media training relates to a 21st century actor, we will explore, challenge, and apply the vernacular, etiquette, discipline, and nuance of acting, and note how the process of storytelling applies to the actor.

Monologue and Scene Study

Monthly on the 4th Wednesday

Teacher: Aan Steele

The eyes are the mirror of the soul. On camera, the eyes show what is going on in the brain. This class will concentrate on delivery on camera. Please come prepared with a 2 minute monologue or scene. Actors will slate and record their monologue or scene. After playback, feedback will be given from the instructor and peers.

Tryouts for the Performing Arts Softball League

Where: DeWitt Clinton Fields at 54th Street & 11th Avenue

The SAG-AFTRA Softball Team invites members who play softball to try out for the Performing Arts Softball League. Games are held Mondays through the spring and into the summer around noon on Heckscher Ballfields in Central Park (just south of the Sheep Meadow).

All players over 18 years of age are welcome. Basic softball skills and experience are required, but professional ball players are prohibited per league rules. There is no fee to join. You must bring your own glove.

No need to RSVP, just show up at the tryout time with your current paid-up SAG-AFTRA membership card or digital card in the member app (paid thru April 30, 2025).

Please note that by sending us an email inquiring about the softball team you are granting SAG-AFTRA permission to share your contact information with the team managers so they can contact you with additional information.

Do you work in commercials? Do you have burning questions about how to shoot effective self-tapes? Are you wondering how to take your at-home setup to the next level?

#AdsGoUnion is pleased to invite you to register below for a chance to attend a free two-hour workshop on Thursday, April 10 at 5:30 p.m. with self-tape guru Shawn Allen McLaughlin. Shawn will walk you through the ABC’s of shooting great self-tapes and answer any and all questions – filming, lighting, editing, uploading, and more.

This invitation is for you and you alone (lucky you!), and is non-transferable. Completing the registration form is not a guarantee of admittance. After completing the form you will be contacted with further information.

-Paramedic/EMT experience. Rate 350.00/8

-Photo double for a light flesh tone African-American female in her late 20’s-early 30’s. Size 6 clothes and 5’6-5’8. Back will be seen on camera so must not have any visible tattoos on back, neck, top of chest (that would be

visible in a tube top), legs, arms or hands
