Join your fellow New York Local members at a member orientation. We'll be covering contracts, benefits of membership, ways to get involved, and how to make the most of your SAG-AFTRA membership.

The orientation will start at noon ET and will include time for Q&A.

LPTW Oral History: Tamara Tunie

Tamara Tunie will be interviewed about her long and brilliant career as a TV/ film star, theatre performer, and theatre producer/director. David Gordon, Editor-in-Chief of TheaterMania.com and President of the Outer Critics Circle will conduct the interview. This event, which is open to the public, is part of the League of Professional Theatre Women’s (LPTW) Oral History Interviews Program in partnership with the library and is a highlight of LPTW’s 40 th Anniversary Celebration.

Auditioning for the Camera with Ron Torgow

Join the SAG-AFTRA NY Conservatory for Auditioning for the Camera with Ron Torgow.
Check-in at 1:45 p.m.

This class will cover:

  • Follow the prompts to provide proof of vaccination. Please allow 24 hours for CLEAR to validate your information.
  • Upon arrival at a SAG-AFTRA office, reopen the CLEAR Health Pass and show your pass at check-in. Green is good to go!

NY Conservatory Presents - Booked It! with Jill Stern

Join the SAG-AFTRA NY Conservatory for a kickoff workshop, Booked It! with Jill Stern. Check-in at 12:45 p.m.

Moving from script, to self-taped audition, to final cut, this workshop will highlight NY Conservatory actors’ recent work to provide a glimpse into self-taped auditions that booked jobs. We will delve into the elements of putting a winning self-tape together. After viewing the audition tapes, we’ll see how the scenes looked in the final production clips. Then in real time, working with actors in the room, we’ll put scenes on camera. If you would like to be considered to work on a scene provided by the instructor, please complete the form link found in the confirmation email.

New York Local SAG Awards Viewing Party

You and a guest are invited to celebrate with New York Local Vice President Linda Powell and fellow members at a viewing party of the 29th Annual SAG Awards.

MORE Seminar Series Presents: Reimagining the Self-Tape with David Dean Bottrell

Presented by the MORE Committee and taught by veteran character actor David Dean Bottrell (Modern Family, Boston Legal). This webinar offers techniques to reframe the self-tape including how to break the scene down specifically for the self-tape and how to bridge what the audition process was to what it is today.  Bottrell's book Working Actor was published by Random House.
