National Day of Solidarity - New York

On Tuesday, August 22, SAG-AFTRA and WGA will join forces with the AFL-CIO and its affiliates from across the nation and across industries for a National Day of Solidarity. In this “Summer of Strikes,” working Americans everywhere are fighting for fair contracts, better compensation, safe working conditions and protections from encroaching technology. Together, we are showing corporate America that when we fight, we win! 

Make sure to check in with SAG-AFTRA on the southeast corner of West 33rd Street and 10th Ave.

SAG-AFTRA t-shirts and signs will be available first-come, first-served.

2023 Buffalo AFL-CIO Labor Day Parade

Where: Assemble at corner of Dorrance Avenue & Mckinley Parkway

Join your fellow SAG-AFTRA members at the annual Buffalo AFL-CIO Labor Day Parade. We are fighting for the survival of our profession because the AMPTP refuses to step into the 21st century. The future of the industry and the future of labor is at stake. We are #SAGAFTRAstrong and we are on strike. Join us on Labor Day for this important showing of labor solidarity. 

11 a.m. ET Line Up | Noon ET Parade Begins

The following information is provided by the WNY Area Labor Federation and Buffalo Central Labor Council:

All marchers are asked to park their cars at or near Cazenovia park. Buses will shuttle marchers from Cazenovia Park, starting at the Peter J. Crotty Casino to Dorrance Ave from 10:30 - 11:45 a.m. This will eliminate congestion at the beginning of the parade and members won't have to walk back to get their cars.

  • Please follow all parking signage on the parade route, buses will be available from 1:15 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. to return to your vehicles.
  • The cookout is at the Peter J. Crotty Casino Shelter in Cazenovia Park. Food will be served starting at 1 p.m.

This event is only open to paid-up SAG-AFTRA members in good standing (paid thru Oct. 31, 2023, or in compliance with the May 2023 dues relief extension). Parents/guardians of performers under 18 years old are welcome.

New York City Labor Day Parade and March 2023

Join your fellow SAG-AFTRA New York Local members at the annual New York City Labor Day Parade and March. The theme of the parade is “We Organize, We Rise.” We are fighting for the survival of our profession because the AMPTP refuses to step into the 21st century. The future of the industry and the future of Labor is at stake. We are #SAGAFTRAstrong and we are on strike. Join us as we take to Fifth Avenue with the strength of the entire New York City Labor movement behind us.

City Hall Press Conference with NYC Council's Committee on Civil Service and Labor

2023 NYC Pride March

Join the SAG-AFTRA LGBTQ Committee, fellow members, and allies on Sunday, June 25 behind our SAG-AFTRA banner during the NYC Pride March! Due to a strict headcount by the parade organizers, we need all members interested in joining the SAG-AFTRA contingent to register by filling out the RSVP form below. Members can bring up to one guest. Further information on when and where to meet will be emailed to you along with instructions. Complimentary SAG-AFTRA Pride T-Shirts are limited and will be available for members on a first-come, first-served basis.

When: Sunday, June 25, Meet at 11:30 a.m. Parade steps off at Noon.

Tamara Tunie will be interviewed about her long and brilliant career as a TV/ film star, theatre performer, and theatre producer/director. David Gordon, Editor-in-Chief of TheaterMania.com and President of the Outer Critics Circle will conduct the interview. This event, which is open to the public, is part of the League of Professional Theatre Women’s (LPTW) Oral History Interviews Program in partnership with the library and is a highlight of LPTW’s 40 th Anniversary Celebration.
