The SAG-AFTRA NY NextGen Performers Committee is excited to invite you and a guest to a Meet-and-Greet with fellow Gen Z/Millennial SAG-AFTRA New York Local peers. Pop in to the SAG-AFTRA Foundation open house starting at 5:30 p.m. Enjoy non-alcoholic beverages provided by Curious Elixirs and appetizers, and learn more about SAG-AFTRA and your fellow members! Please note you must RSVP with a guest in order to bring a plus one.
 
NextGen Performers consists of SAG-AFTRA members who encourage young adult professional members to take control of their careers and get involved and active with the union through social media, social networking, meet-ups, tweet-ups, community outreach, special events and much more. In celebration of Women's History Month, the Women in the Arts & Media Coalition will continue its yearly Women Arts Day — in collaboration with their member organizations including SAG-AFTRA, NYWIFT and WomenArts.

This year's films will include Finding Her Beat, a documentary about female Taiko drummers, and Gone Before Your Eyes, a scripted short about an aging painter.

There will be a talkback after the films with Finding Her Beat Director/Producer Dawn Mikkelson, Director/Director of Photography Keri Pickett, and Producer/Principal Participant Jennifer Weir, and with the Writer/Director of Gone Before Your Eyes, Cara Yeates.

After the films and talkbacks, there will be food, drink, and networking. As every year, the event will be free, sponsored by the Coalition and the participating organizations.

The SAG-AFTRA New York Local is inviting all members who work the Producer–SAG-AFTRA Television Animation Agreement to a wages and working conditions (“W&W”) meeting in preparation for the upcoming negotiations. The TV Animation Agreement expired on June 30, 2023 with an extension to January 31, 2024.

Proposals for this negotiation are developed through the involvement of members like you. Make your voice heard and participate in this very important process. Meetings are open to all paid-up SAG-AFTRA members*.

WHERE: Meetings will be held by Zoom. You must have a Zoom account that identifies you by name to participate.

If you cannot attend a W&W meeting, you may submit proposal recommendations by email to tvanimation2023@sagaftra.org. Recommendations must be received by Thursday, January 11, 2024.

In order to help you have as much information as possible on the new 2023 TV/Theatrical Contracts prior to voting, the SAG-AFTRA New York Local will hold a TV/Theatrical Contracts informational meeting in person with National Executive Director & Chief Negotiator Duncan Crabtree-Ireland and Chief Contracts Officer Ray Rodriguez on Monday, Nov. 20, 2023.

These meetings are open to active SAG-AFTRA members paid through the November 2022 dues period and new members who joined in the May 2023 or November 2023 dues periods with initiation fees and dues fully paid. This year the Entertainment Community Fund will once again partner with Mount Sinai to offer free flu shots the community! Getting the flu vaccine is easy, free, convenient, and safe.  Pre-registration and appointment is required. No walk-ins. This flu shot is free for the insured and the uninsured.

This is for a standard flu shot. The ECF and the Friedman Health Center regret that they cannot offer flu shots to those who are allergic to eggs, or high dose flu shots for seniors, at this event.
 
Please reserve only one (1) slot to allow the ECF to provide flu shots to as many members of our community as possible.

Curious about the Foundation's Voiceover and On-Camera Labs, but never used them before? Or have you only used the virtual facilities, and have never ventured to the office?

The SAG-AFTRA Foundation New York Voiceover and On-Camera Lab Open House is an opportunity for members to drop by and learn how the labs operate, what you can do in the lab, and meet the staff and learn more about their voiceover and on-camera programming.
